Property Taxes

Property tax bills are mailed out in mid-July each year. They cover our fiscal year July 1 through June 30, and are payable four (4) times a year:  September 1, December 1, March 1 and June 1.

Postmarks are NOT accepted as timely payment.

Each installment payment must be received in the town office before 4 p.m. on the due date. If the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is 4pm the next business day. Taxes not paid by these dates will be charged 1% interest per month.  Interest shall be imposed on a fraction of a month as if it were an entire month.

Taxes are considered delinquent after June 1. There will be a 4% penalty charged on any tax remaining due after 4 p.m. on June 1. There will be an additional 4% penalty charged on any tax remaining due after 4 p.m. on July 1. The penalty shall be imposed on a fraction of a month as if it were an entire month.

PAY YOUR PROPERTY TAXES BY ACH or a CREDIT/DEBIT CARD

Payments are processed immediately and the payment date will be equal to the business day following the date you complete your transaction.

Or sign up for the FREE Direct Debit program. Quarterly taxes withdrawn from your checking or savings account automatically. You only need to make sure there are funds available. Email Treasurer@FerrisburghVT.org for the form.
