Municipal Ethics Training
The State of Vermont requires certain municipal officials to complete ethics training under the Municipal Code of Ethics (24 V.S.A. Chapter 60).
Municipal officers must:
Complete initial ethics training within 120 days of election or appointment
Complete additional training every three years
The training is provided or approved by the Vermont State Ethics Commission and covers topics including conflicts of interest, use of public resources, and standards of conduct for municipal officials. (legislature.vermont.gov)
Training may be completed online or in person and must be documented by the municipality.

State law (24 V.S.A. ยง 1997) requires municipalities to enact procedures to investigate complaints that allege a municipal officer has violated the Municipal Code of Ethics and to enforce against substantiated complaints, including developing methods of enforcement and available remedies.
If you wish to submit an ethics complaint directed to the Town of Ferrisburgh it must be filed with the Town Clerk’s office by e-mail at townclerk@ferrisburghvt.org or to the Town Offices at 3279 Route 7, Ferrisburgh, VT 05456.
