📄 Land & Property Services

  • Land Records Research
    • Digital records available back to 1980
    • Includes deeds, mortgages, liens, etc.
    • Copies: $1 per page
    • Staff can assist with using the system (but no legal advice or title research)
  • Recording Documents
    • Drop-off or mail-in available
    • Processing takes ~1–2 weeks
    • Documents are stamped, scanned, indexed, then returned
    • Property transfers require VT Property Transfer Tax Return (PTT-172)
  • Recording Fees set by Vermont Recording Fees (32 V.S.A. ยง 1671)
    • $15 per page (or discharge)
    • $15 per PTTR
    • $25 per map
    • $45 per UCC
    • $25 for UCC amendments/terminations
  • Land Posting
    • Record notices (e.g., no hunting/fishing) annually
    • Fee: $5

💰 Taxes & Payments

  • Property Tax Payments
    • Due quarterly: Sept 1, Dec 1, Mar 1, June 1
    • Covers July 1 – June 30 fiscal year
    • Contact Town Treasurer or Delinquent Tax Collector for any questions

🐕 Licenses & Permits

  • Dog Licenses
    • Due annually by April 1
    • $11 (spayed/neutered), $15 (not)
    • $2 late fee after April 1
  • Hunting & Fishing Licenses
    • Available for residents and non-residents
    • Hunting requires prior license or safety certification
    • Fishing required for residents age 15+

💍 Marriage & Civil Union Licenses

  • Requirements:
    • At least one resident OR ceremony in Addison County (for out-of-state couples)
    • No blood test required
  • Fees:
    • $80 license
    • $10 certified copy
  • Valid immediately, must be used within 60 days

🚗 Motor Vehicle Services

  • Registration Renewal
    • For cars, trucks, boats, trailers, etc.
    • Bring renewal notice + check to DMV
    • Process it online or it is a $3 service fee to the town

📜 Vital Records

  • Birth, death, and marriage records available
  • Fees:
    • $1 photocopy
    • $10 certified copy
  • Genealogy research welcome (done by requester)

✍️ Notary Services

  • Documents notarized free of charge
  • Walk-ins accepted (appointments appreciated)

🎟️ Special Programs

  • Green Mountain Passport
    • For Vermont residents 62+ or veterans
    • $2 lifetime fee
    • Free entry to state parks, museums, and historic sites (excludes camping/fees)
