Highway Department

The Ferrisburgh Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 80 miles of roads within the town. The department operates out of the Town Garage and manages infrastructure through various standards and operational plans.

🚛 Key Responsibilities & Services

  • Road Maintenance: General upkeep and repair of town roads and bridges.
  • Winter Operations: Implementing the town's Winter Operations Plan for snow removal and safety.
  • Permitting: Processing essential road-use forms, including:
    • Access Permits for driveway or road entry.
    • Right of Way/Utility Permits (Form 1111).
    • Excess Weight Permits for heavy vehicle transport.
  • Infrastructure Management: Adhering to established Town Road and Bridge Standards.
